The Ecoworld Rhodopes Association – Smolyan, as a partner of the Hellenic Social Supporting Association Hel.S.S.A., a Greek organization, organizes the participation of four young workers in the „Together Against Stereotypes!“ Project funded by the Erasmus + Program.

The project involved youth workers from Greece, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Spain, Italy, and Turkey.

The project aims to equip youth workers with the necessary competences and skills to be able to conduct activities to help break down barriers between local and migrant groups in society.

The project aims to equip young people with the necessary competences and skills to be able to hold seminars, which will help break down barriers between local and migrant groups in society.
The objective of the project are:
– to analyze the roots of xenophobia and racism
– to bring forward  the stereotypes which are attached to the state of being refugee or immigrant
– to provide methods, tools, past experience and best practices on the implementation of workshops
related to tackling xenophobia and racism
– to compose a guide based on the material and the discussions held during the project.
– to set the basis for further cooperation between the participating organizations.

Extremely Good Organization Created by Hellenic Social Supporting Association Hel.S.S.A. and the charming Helena was a prerequisite not only for good spirits but also for a very successful job.

The presenters at the sessions, Khaled Tachir, a social anthropologist, and Dimitra Kampeli, a communications expert and coordinator of refugee support schemes and policies, posed questions, cases, presented refugee problems in Greece and in Europe in extremely attractive ways. Each team shared the refugee problems in their country. There were many role-playing games to be implemented in the future work of youth workers.

Shocking were the meetings with Khaled, the son of refugees and Naeim, a refugee from Syria, who shared their life’s problems.

Each team presented their country, traditional songs, and dances, traditional food.
And the Bulgarian evening ended with a big horo played by all the participants.
